First and foremost, thank you for stopping by my blog. You are my honored guest. Now allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sue Geter, and I am a National Board Certified Teacher who recently retired after 25 years in education. I have an English Education degree and a masters in Library and Information Science. I taught eleventh grade English for 18 years before I transitioned to the high school library for the last 7 years.
My passion is guiding students to become independent learners through inquiry based learning and to share my philosophy and methodologies with other teachers. Presently, I tutor students struggling in the English classroom, students preparing to take the ACT, and students preparing for the English exist exam. Also, I am an educational consultant, conducting workshops for teachers and coaching teachers.
My teaching philosophy is that teachers should meet each student where that student is in his or her life and take him or her to the highest level possible.
I created this blog to share pedagogical practices, lesson ideas, books for student, and professional and curl-up-next-to-the-fire books for teachers.
I hope you will visit again soon.
